Developer Files Permits for Flatiron-Inspired Westwood Tower

A nearly 10-year-old plan for a high-rise development in Westwood has shown its first sign of life in years.

Los Angeles-based developer Indivest has applied for the first in a series of building permits needed to construct the Gayley at Wilshire, a proposed 29-story condo tower near UCLA.  The project, named for its location at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Gayley Avenue, is entitled for 144 residences above a podium structure featuring commercial space and amenities and four levels of basement parking.

Apartments to Replace Fraternity House Near UCLA

Next week, the West Los Angeles Area Planning Commission will consider a proposal to construct a new apartment building near the UCLA campus in Westwood. 

The project, located at 626 S. Landfair Avenue, calls for the demolition of an existing fraternity house to make way for the construction of a four-story building featuring 10 residential units and two levels of basement parking.

The parking lot of the Westwood Presbyterian Church could make way for a mid-rise development, according to plans submitted yesterday to the City of Los Angeles.

The property, located at 10822 Wilshire Boulevard, is slated for the construction of a 12-story eldercare facility featuring 176 residential units, as well as a new church fellowship hall and a new facility and administrative building for the church's preschool.
